I got a cookie slab on a big sale. I was disappointed in the the checking / cracks that were on it. I recommend when you order an expensive slab that you get the latest picture from them. I was not happy and the team at Rustic made it right. Overall the slab was thick and flat, overall a good experience in the end and stand up company. Much appeciated the commication.
Long time woodworker here.. have tried many ceramics from the "big" players.. Cam at Blacktail, Black Forrest, etc. and can say with confidence this is the best one yet. It goes on and wipes off with ease, and no overlapping streaks. The added water resistance is amazing, and clients love the silky feel it gives finished pieces; especially if you pair it with the Rustic Lumber furniture oil (which is also my go to finishing oil.) Ignore the review from Dale B... he obviously wasn't using it properly. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Thank you for the good words and the photo review. Each positive review means so much to us and really appreciate the time customers take to help us out. Top quality products and personal customer service is our top priority!
I wouldn't go back. Had 1 log for 7 months. Lost it, found it lost it. Tried to give me some other log. Way longer than expected. Veneer quality lumber turned into junk. Cracks and cupping. For $1200 its a joke. The only people that know what they're doing is the lady up front ( Brandy ) and a guy in the back ( Phil )
Trust us. We don't want you to come back. You were consitently rude and demanding. Always trying to weasly us a cheaper price because of the time. You paid $600 for sawmilling and $600 for kiln drying, not $1200 for only the kiln drying. You are also more than welcome to buy your own $90,000 kiln next time. We stored you lumber in our shed to properly air dry first for 6 months which is a neccesity to dry walnut correctly. We also clearly explained to you that our kiln was broke down for 2 months which was out of our control. We confused your wood with another customer? Big deal, once we realized it was the wrong customer we quickly had your correct slabs in the kiln in the next load. You also have no experence or knowledge of drying wood. Do you really think slabs are going to come out in perfect quality? We dried the wood at a low and slow tempurature for 6 weeks and only charged for a 4 week cylce. FYI, we have no one named Phil that works here.
The clear oil works very well and is durable. It's one coat finish is a bit less shiny than the Rubio product but on a very good note is it dries much faster. Also it doesn't have that ridiculous fruity smell. A second coat bring the shine to the same level as two coats from the other product.
Thank you for the purchase!
